Iron and Wine at McCarren Park Pool
McCarren Park Pool is an old public 50,000 square foot swimming pool that has been out of use for nearly 25 years. This summer it’s been converted into a music venue and Iron and Wine are one of the first bands to perform there. It’s by far the strangest and coolest venue I’ve ever seen a show.
Last night was the third time I’ve seen Iron and Wine live. Everytime I see them, every song is completely different—in a very creative way. Sitting on the floor of a giant abandoned swimming pool was a great way to hear Sam Beam’s tunes.
