Lonely Planet Roadtrip Nation Event

Dave and I got to the Galapagos Art Space early to soundcheck. Before the show we hung out with the “original roadtrippers” Brian and Mike, as well as Chrystal, Kassie, and Jenni—in one of the giant green RVs—a great way to get in the vibe of what Roadtrip Nation is all about. We did a set of tunes featuring material from The Last Leaves that was used in the show, and threw in some newer tunes.

The set list went something like:

  • A New Sunrise
  • Frost
  • Got Me Wrong
  • For You
  • Feel
  • Change Before Your Eyes (Blood On Your Lips)
  • Bittersweet (Oakland)
  • The Last Leaves
  • Ever Again (featured on the Roadtrip Nation soundtrack)

After the set we screened some highlights from the original season, followed by highlights from the upcoming season. The show is seriously amazing–very inspiring. The upcoming season features interview with Gillian Caldwell, executive director of witness.org, “?uestlove” from the roots, and David Neelman, the CEO of Jetblue Airways. It’s an honor to be part of a production that’s so in line with many of things that I strongly believe—like finding your own path and finding a way to do something you are passionate about, something you love. The show airs on PBS everywhere, so check your listing and watch!! In NYC it airs on PBS-WNET every Sunday at 10:30pm starting this week.
